Derek Martin has worked as a writer, director and teacher for over thirty years. He has directed and written (book and libretti) musicals and opera as well as stand-alone songs; this work has been seen in many venues, including Tete-a-Tete Opera Festival, Bridgewater Hall, and the Southbank Centre. His plays have been performed all around the UK from Edinburgh to London and from Cardiff to Suffolk. As a writer/director, he has created work for the NHS, UNESCO, and the Welsh Assembly. He has a PGCE-PCET from Edgehill, a Master’s degree in Playwriting Studies from the University of Birmingham, and is a member of both the National Association of Writers in Education and the Writers Guild of Great Britain.
